3. WHERE TO PUT THE POLES

by Mike Harding November 05, 2013

When you locate the poles in your garden, they need to be firm in the ground and on an even stretch of grass.  Not sat on big bumps or in dips and definitely not in the soil.

You will need to use the guy ropes as the poles will not remain stable in the ground without them.  You should allow an extra 75cm after the poles for the guy ropes to be anchored.

They can be anchored either into the ground or to the very foot of the fence.  However note that you must check that the fence is strong enough, and you may need to ask your neighbours permission if the fence belongs to them.
