How to Build

1. HOW DOES IT WORK?

Open Goaaal! is a white football goal net surrounded by a wall of black netting.  It hangs from 2 green metal poles that are 3 metres high, and opens and closes just like a curtain.

It's completely made from ropes and netting and you can open and close it from whichever pole suits your garden.

There is also a version of Open Goaaal! without the black surround net.  So unlike Open Goaaal! it doesn't stop the ball if you miss!  However like Open Goaaal! it has the massive benefit that it slides out of sight and frees up the garden after use; which is one of the main reasons people don't buy big goals.

2. BUILDING IT

You’ll hammer in the ground sockets, insert the poles and guy ropes, and step by step hang the net.

3. WHERE TO PUT THE POLES

Make sure you position Open Goaaal! on fairly flat ground or with an even slope, and not on big bumps or in dips.

Poles and guy ropes MUST be anchored in firm grass, not soil.

Do not attempt to build Open Goaaal! without the guy ropes as the poles will not remain stable in the ground.  The ground pegs for the guy ropes sit below the surface of the lawn so that you can walk on top or mow over them if you need to.

4. HOW FAR APART TO PUT THE POLES

(i) OPEN GOAAAL! STANDARD SIZE

This is the space you will need widthways and behind the goal.  You can move the poles closer together if your garden is narrower.

MAXIMUM 9.0m wide x 2.0m deep                                MINIMUM 6.3m wide x 2.0m deep

(ii) OPEN GOAAAL! LARGE SIZE & OPEN GOAAAL! NO BACKSTOP

This is the space you will need widthways and behind the goal. You can move the poles closer together if your garden is narrower.

MAXIMUM 11.0m wide x 2.3m deep                              MINIMUM 8.5m wide x 2.3m deep
